Find the hat

Sweep the lens over the cat to see inside, then hold still on the hat to pull it out. Hold still on anything else and it costs you four seconds.

Each cat holds more than the last, and from the third one there are shapes that read as a hat for half a second and are not. The lens ring warms up when you are close.
